Rhodes Deli was another fast-tracked retail fitout delivered by Metro Deco in just four weeks. The project began with a major demolition of the existing tenancy, requiring careful planning and close collaboration with the client, Studio MKZ and shopping centre management. A key objective was preserving the existing coolroom and freezer room, allowing these significant assets to be retained while reshaping the tenancy to suit the new operational layout and design intent.
The demolition works uncovered multiple generations of previous fitouts, including four layers of flooring that had accumulated over the years. Removing these existing conditions safely and efficiently laid the foundation for the new space while keeping the project on programme and within budget. By overcoming the complex demolition challenges and coordinating the build under an aggressive timeframe, Metro Deco delivered a high-quality hospitality fitout that many believed couldn't be achieved within the available time and budget.
